Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Seated Figures in a Woodland by George Russell was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2021. The price achieved of GBP 12,600.00 (€ 14,793.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Russell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ring-a-ring-a-roses in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 42,300.00 (€ 67,875.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Seated Figures in a Woodland von George Russell kam im November 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.600,00 (€ 14.793,59) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Russell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ring-a-ring-a-roses im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 42.300,00 (€ 67.875,90).
