Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Figures Dancing In The Woods by George Russell was sold in the The Irish Sale auction at Sothebys in London in May 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 25,739.77) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Russell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ring-a-ring-a-roses, which sold at auction in May 2000 for GBP 42,300.00 (€ 67,875.90).

Die Arbeit Figures Dancing In The Woods von George Russell wurde im Mai 2009 in der Auktion The Irish Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 25.739,77) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
