Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction A Living Legacy: Irish Art from the Collection of Brian P. Burns, which included the work Celtic Twilight by George Russell. The price achieved of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,199.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Russell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ring-a-ring-a-roses, which sold at auction in May 2000 for GBP 42,300.00 (€ 67,875.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion A Living Legacy: Irish Art from the Collection of Brian P. Burns durch, in der auch die Arbeit Celtic Twilight von George Russell zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 28.199,24) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von George Russell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ring-a-ring-a-roses beobachtet, die im Mai 2000 für GBP 42.300,00 (€ 67.875,90) versteigert wurde.
