In May 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Gathering Wood by George Henry Durrie. The result of USD 150,000.00 (€ 136,438.06) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Henry Durrie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work To Hartford--IX Miles, which sold at auction in May 2017 for USD 607,500.00 (€ 540,672.84).

Im Mai 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gathering Wood von George Henry Durrie zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 150.000,00 (€ 136.438,06) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von George Henry Durrie mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit To Hartford--IX Miles beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für USD 607.500,00 (€ 540.672,84) versteigert wurde.
