Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Sothebys in New York held the auction The American Scene including Important Photographs from the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation, which included the work Sleighs Arriving at the Inn by George Henry Durrie. It changed hands for a price of USD 75,600.00 (€ 70,450.10) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Henry Durrie have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work To Hartford--IX Miles in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 607,500.00 (€ 540,672.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The American Scene including Important Photographs from the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sleighs Arriving at the Inn von George Henry Durrie zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 75.600,00 (€ 70.450,10) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Henry Durrie auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit To Hartford--IX Miles im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 607.500,00 (€ 540.672,84).
