Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Winter-Time On The Farm by George Henry Durrie. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 62,500.00 (€ 50,549.98) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Henry Durrie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work To Hartford--IX Miles in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 607,500.00 (€ 540,672.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Winter-Time On The Farm von George Henry Durrie zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 50.549,98) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Henry Durrie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit To Hartford--IX Miles im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 607.500,00 (€ 540.672,84).
