Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2005 Christies in London held the auction The Scottish Sale, which included the work Figures On The Bank of A Loch, With A Ruined Castle Beyond. by George F. Buchanan. The price achieved of GBP 840.00 (€ 1,223.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700.00 – 900.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George F. Buchanan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Inverary, Argyll, which sold at auction in March 2004 for GBP 1,912.00 (€ 2,862.09).

Buchanan zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 840,00 (€ 1.223,37) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 700,00 – 900,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von George F. Buchanan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Inverary, Argyll beobachtet, die im März 2004 für GBP 1.912,00 (€ 2.862,09) versteigert wurde.
