Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2001 Christies in New York held the auction Sporting Art, which included the work Pippin, A Pug Dog With A Freemason Collar by George Earl. The price achieved of USD 5,875.00 (€ 6,932.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Earl have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Brocklesby Foxhounds, Scornful, Prudence, Rosebud and Poesy (from left to right) in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 30,550.00 (€ 49,932.77).
