In July 2019 Christies in London held the auction British & European Art: Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work Fortunes by George Dunlop Leslie. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 237,500.00 (€ 260,759.21), 58% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Dunlop Leslie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pot-Pourri, which sold at auction in November 2002 for GBP 446,650.00 (€ 699,430.87).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion British & European Art: Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fortunes von George Dunlop Leslie zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 237.500,00 (€ 260.759,21) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von George Dunlop Leslie mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pot-Pourri beobachtet, die im November 2002 für GBP 446.650,00 (€ 699.430,87) versteigert wurde.
