In September 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Moonlight on Fifth Avenue by George Copeland Ault. The result of USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,550.88) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Copeland Ault achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Plough and the Moon in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 687,500.00 (€ 609,107.82).

Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 5.000,00 (€ 3.550,88) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Copeland Ault erzielen.
