Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Autumn in the Bronx by George Copeland Ault for USD 98,500.00 (€ 70,766.58). This price was achieved in the auction Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by George Copeland Ault have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Plough and the Moon in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 687,500.00 (€ 609,107.82).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Autumn in the Bronx von George Copeland Ault für USD 98.500,00 (€ 70.766,58) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Copeland Ault auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Plough and the Moon im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 687.500,00 (€ 609.107,82).
