Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Autumn in the Bronx by George Copeland Ault for USD 98,500.00 (€ 70,766.58). This price was achieved in the auction Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by George Copeland Ault have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Plough and the Moon in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 687,500.00 (€ 609,107.82).
