Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Roses by George Cochran Lambdin was sold in the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction at Christies in New York in September 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,250.00 (€ 3,860.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Cochran Lambdin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cyclamen in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 50,400.00 (€ 39,725.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Roses von George Cochran Lambdin wurde im September 2010 in der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.250,00 (€ 3.860,01) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Cochran Lambdin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cyclamen im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.400,00 (€ 39.725,70).
