Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2003 Christies in London held the auction Maritime, which included the work Unloading the supplies on the Breton coast, with customs men checking the cargo by George Bryant Campion. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 564.00 (€ 785.79). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Bryant Campion achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An exploration vessel anchored in Arctic waters with the crew rowing ashore; and The crew defending themselves from an attack by a polar bear whilst rowing ashore (both illustrated) in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,215.61).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An exploration vessel anchored in Arctic waters with the crew rowing ashore; and The crew defending themselves from an attack by a polar bear whilst rowing ashore (both illustrated) im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.215,61).
