Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours including Original, which included the work The novice ice skater by George Bryant Campion. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 400.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 454.10 (€ 686.25). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Bryant Campion achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An exploration vessel anchored in Arctic waters with the crew rowing ashore; and The crew defending themselves from an attack by a polar bear whilst rowing ashore (both illustrated) in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,215.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours including Original durch, in der auch die Arbeit The novice ice skater von George Bryant Campion zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 400,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 454,10 (€ 686,25) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Bryant Campion erzielen.
