In October 2010 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work View of the Artillery Depot at Woolwich by George Bryant Campion. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,062.50 (€ 1,225.08), 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by George Bryant Campion have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An exploration vessel anchored in Arctic waters with the crew rowing ashore; and The crew defending themselves from an attack by a polar bear whilst rowing ashore (both illustrated) in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,215.61).
