Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cricket match in Salara, Italy (illustrated); and A R.Y.S. yacht at anchor by George Bryant Campion was auctioned at Christies in London in January 2011. The price achieved of GBP 687.50 (€ 771.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Bryant Campion achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An exploration vessel anchored in Arctic waters with the crew rowing ashore; and The crew defending themselves from an attack by a polar bear whilst rowing ashore (both illustrated) in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,215.61).
