Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lions At A Watering Hole by Georg Majewicz was sold in the Sporting Art, Wildlife and Dogs auction at Christies in London in November 2006. The price achieved of GBP 600.00 (€ 891.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Georg Majewicz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elephants before Kilimanjaro, which sold at auction in December 2005 for GBP 2,160.00 (€ 3,135.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lions At A Watering Hole von Georg Majewicz wurde im November 2006 in der Auktion Sporting Art, Wildlife and Dogs bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 600,00 (€ 891,02) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 500,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Georg Majewicz mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Elephants before Kilimanjaro beobachtet, die im Dezember 2005 für GBP 2.160,00 (€ 3.135,12) versteigert wurde.
