A top price for Georg Majewicz - as previously expected
In December 2005 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art including Russian Pictures, which included the work A leopard chasing a heron by Georg Majewicz. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,160.00 (€ 3,135.12) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,800.00 – 2,200.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A leopard chasing a heron is the most expensive artwork by Georg Majewicz that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Dezember 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art including Russian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A leopard chasing a heron von Georg Majewicz zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 2.160,00 (€ 3.135,12) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.800,00 – 2.200,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist A leopard chasing a heron das teuerste Kunstwerk von Georg Majewicz, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
