A top price for Georg Majewicz - as previously expected
The work Elephants before Kilimanjaro by Georg Majewicz was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2005. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,160.00 (€ 3,135.12) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,800.00 – 2,200.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Elephants before Kilimanjaro is the most expensive artwork by Georg Majewicz that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Die Arbeit Elephants before Kilimanjaro von Georg Majewicz kam im Dezember 2005 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 2.160,00 (€ 3.135,12) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.800,00 – 2.200,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Elephants before Kilimanjaro das teuerste Kunstwerk von Georg Majewicz, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
