Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Gaston La Touche could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 19th Century European Art auction, the work French le Bain (La Chaste Suzanne) changed hands for USD 40,625.00 (€ 36,951.97) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gaston La Touche have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work L’Entracte in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 175,000.00 (€ 149,957.16).
