This work of art by Gaston La Touche could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in February 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 19th Century European Art auction, the work French La Pêche changed hands for USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,280.69) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gaston La Touche achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L’Entracte in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 175,000.00 (€ 149,957.16).
