Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gaspar van Wittel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Island of San Giorgio Maggiore, Venice, from the Bacino; and The Entrance to the Grand Canal, with the Santa Maria della Salute in July 2003 with an auction result of GBP 1,517,250.00 (€ 1,983,148.05).
