Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Gary Hume could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Discoveries auction, the work Wheel changed hands for USD 6,930.00 (€ 6,247.18) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gary Hume achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vicious in February 2014 with an auction result of GBP 410,500.00 (€ 498,035.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gary Hume konnte im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Discoveries wechselte die Arbeit Wheel für USD 6.930,00 (€ 6.247,18) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gary Hume erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Vicious im Februar 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 410.500,00 (€ 498.035,27).
