The »bidding war« ended at AUD 129,250.00 (€ 71,545.58), 62% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Garry Shead - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian Queen Of Suburbia, which sold at auction in August 2007 for AUD 432,000.00 (€ 258,325.93).
