Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Awakening by Garry Shead was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in November 2002. The price achieved of AUD 3,055.00 (€ 1,722.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Garry Shead achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Queen Of Suburbia in August 2007 with an auction result of AUD 432,000.00 (€ 258,325.93).

Die Arbeit The Awakening von Garry Shead kam im November 2002 bei Christies in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 3.055,00 (€ 1.722,82) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Garry Shead erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian Queen Of Suburbia im August 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 432.000,00 (€ 258.325,93).
