This artwork by Gai Qi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in February this year. In the Dawn of Spring – Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Plum Blossom and Linzi sold for HKD 56,700.00 (€ 6,813.41) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gai Qi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work literati elegant gathering in October 2021 with an auction result of HKD 1,197,000.00 (€ 133,149.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 89 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gai Qi erzielte im Februar diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Dawn of Spring – Chinese Paintings Online wurde die Arbeit Plum Blossom and Linzi für HKD 56.700,00 (€ 6.813,41) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gai Qi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit literati elegant gathering im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.197.000,00 (€ 133.149,67).
