This artwork by Gai Qi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2018. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction, the work Pine Tree, Bamboos And Plums After Ke Jiusi sold for HKD 40,000.00 (€ 4,504.06) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gai Qi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work literati elegant gathering in October 2021 with an auction result of HKD 1,197,000.00 (€ 133,149.67).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Gai Qi erzielte im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Pine Tree, Bamboos And Plums After Ke Jiusi für HKD 40.000,00 (€ 4.504,06) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gai Qi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit literati elegant gathering im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.197.000,00 (€ 133.149,67).
