Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Sans titre by Gabriel Godard was auctioned at Christies in Paris in October 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 50.00 – 70.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 37.50. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gabriel Godard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in June 2014 with an auction result of USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,374.00).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Sans titre von Gabriel Godard im Oktober 2014 bei Christies in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 50,00 – 70,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 37,50 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gabriel Godard erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Juni 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.374,00).
