Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Paysage by Gabriel Godard was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 187.50 (€ 238.22). Admittedly, works by Gabriel Godard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in June 2014 with an auction result of USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,374.00).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Paysage von Gabriel Godard im Juli 2008 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 187,50 (€ 238,22) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gabriel Godard auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Juni 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.374,00).
