Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work Sunshine after rain, near Cosham, Hants by George Cole. The price achieved of GBP 720.00 (€ 1,068.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Cole achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Carting the Ripe Harvest, Coombe in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 84,600.00 (€ 90,694.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sunshine after rain, near Cosham, Hants von George Cole zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 720,00 (€ 1.068,57) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Cole erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Carting the Ripe Harvest, Coombe im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 84.600,00 (€ 90.694,68).
