Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Frederik van Valckenborch achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2004. In the Old Master Pictures and Drawings auction, the work An Extensive River Landscape sold for EUR 3,585.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederik van Valckenborch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Mountainous Village Landscape With Waterfalls, Mills, A Castle On A Hill, Various Animals, And Figures In The Foreground in February 2018 with an auction result of USD 175,000.00 (€ 143,313.41).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Mountainous Village Landscape With Waterfalls, Mills, A Castle On A Hill, Various Animals, And Figures In The Foreground im Februar 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 175.000,00 (€ 143.313,41).
