Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Wooded Landscape With A River And Farm Buildings Beyond by Frederik van Valckenborch was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in December 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 11,250.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederik van Valckenborch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Mountainous Village Landscape With Waterfalls, Mills, A Castle On A Hill, Various Animals, And Figures In The Foreground in February 2018 with an auction result of USD 175,000.00 (€ 143,313.41).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Wooded Landscape With A River And Farm Buildings Beyond von Frederik van Valckenborch im Dezember 2014 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 11.250,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederik van Valckenborch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Mountainous Village Landscape With Waterfalls, Mills, A Castle On A Hill, Various Animals, And Figures In The Foreground im Februar 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 175.000,00 (€ 143.313,41).
