This artwork by Frederick William Whitehead achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2003. In the British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures auction, the work Goat Horn Point, looking towards Poole sold for GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,042.56) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frederick William Whitehead - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Old Harry Rocks, Dorset, which sold at auction in March 2013 for GBP 6,000.00 (€ 7,112.83).
