Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Eton from the Thames by Frederick William Whitehead was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2001. The price achieved of GBP 940.00 (€ 1,517.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Frederick William Whitehead have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Old Harry Rocks, Dorset in March 2013 with an auction result of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 7,112.83).
