Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2003 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper including the Collection and Studio of, which included the work A village scene, Bideford by Frederick William Whitehead. It changed hands for a price of GBP 493.50 (€ 714.90) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Admittedly, works by Frederick William Whitehead have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Old Harry Rocks, Dorset in March 2013 with an auction result of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 7,112.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Art on Paper including the Collection and Studio of durch, in der auch die Arbeit A village scene, Bideford von Frederick William Whitehead zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 493,50 (€ 714,90) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick William Whitehead auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Old Harry Rocks, Dorset im März 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.000,00 (€ 7.112,83).
