Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction British & Continental Paintings, which included the work The Old Water Mill by Frederick William Whitehead. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,615.57) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Frederick William Whitehead have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Old Harry Rocks, Dorset in March 2013 with an auction result of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 7,112.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion British & Continental Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Old Water Mill von Frederick William Whitehead zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.125,00 (€ 1.615,57) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick William Whitehead auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Old Harry Rocks, Dorset im März 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.000,00 (€ 7.112,83).
