Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Autumn by Frederick Mulhaupt was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,292.58). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick Mulhaupt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The White Schooner in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 168,000.00 (€ 132,419.01).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Autumn von Frederick Mulhaupt im Oktober 2017 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 5.000,00 (€ 4.292,58) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederick Mulhaupt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The White Schooner im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 168.000,00 (€ 132.419,01).
