It achieved a price of USD 37,500.00 (€ 27,585.70), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. Admittedly, works by Frederick Mulhaupt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The White Schooner in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 168,000.00 (€ 132,419.01).

Die Arbeit An October Evening von Frederick Mulhaupt kam im Oktober 2013 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 27.585,70) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick Mulhaupt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The White Schooner im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 168.000,00 (€ 132.419,01).
