In April 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work Atlantis Wharf, Gloucester, Massachusetts by Frederick Mulhaupt. The »bidding war« ended at USD 28,125.00 (€ 21,358.60), 56% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Frederick Mulhaupt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The White Schooner in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 168,000.00 (€ 132,419.01).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 56 % übertroffen
Im April 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Atlantis Wharf, Gloucester, Massachusetts von Frederick Mulhaupt zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 28.125,00 (€ 21.358,60) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick Mulhaupt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The White Schooner im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 168.000,00 (€ 132.419,01).
