Auction result well in line with expectations
The work West Coast Mountains by Frederick Horsman Varley was auctioned at Sothebys in Toronto in May 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CAD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00, the actual price achieved of CAD 71,500.00 (€ 51,337.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frederick Horsman Varley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Mountain Road Through Lynn Valley, B.C., which sold at auction in November 2010 for CAD 232,500.00 (€ 173,715.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit West Coast Mountains von Frederick Horsman Varley kam im Mai 2011 bei Sothebys in Toronto zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von CAD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von CAD 71.500,00 (€ 51.337,16) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
