Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2005 Christies in London held the auction Impressionist and Modern Art, which included the work Luxembourg Gardens by Frederick McDuff. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,160.00 (€ 3,185.35) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frederick McDuff - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Figures with cabanas at the beach, which sold at auction in July 2016 for USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,954.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Luxembourg Gardens von Frederick McDuff zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.160,00 (€ 3.185,35) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Frederick McDuff mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Figures with cabanas at the beach beobachtet, die im Juli 2016 für USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.954,15) versteigert wurde.
