The work Ely Cathedral: Evening View from the East, 1916 by Frederick H. Evans was sold in the Portrait of a Collector: The John M. Bransten Collection of Photographs auction at Christies in New York in April 2017. It achieved a price of USD 10,625.00 (€ 9,752.18), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 52%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederick H. Evans achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'A Sea Of Steps', Wells Cathedral, Steps To Chapter House, 1903 in October 2013 with an auction result of USD 233,000.00 (€ 171,399.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 52 % übertroffen
