Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Rizpah, a colour sketch by Frederic Leighton was sold in the British and European Art auction at Christies in London in December this year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,560.00 (€ 8,708.83) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederic Leighton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Golden Hours in June 2016 with an auction result of GBP 3,274,500.00 (€ 3,930,468.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Rizpah, a colour sketch von Frederic Leighton wurde im Dezember diesen Jahres in der Auktion British and European Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.560,00 (€ 8.708,83) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederic Leighton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Golden Hours im Juni 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.274.500,00 (€ 3.930.468,55).
