Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study for Terpsichore; Study for Erato by Frederic Leighton was sold in the European and British Art, Part II auction at Sothebys in London in July last year. The price achieved of GBP 25,200.00 (€ 30,093.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frederic Leighton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Golden Hours in June 2016 with an auction result of GBP 3,274,500.00 (€ 3,930,468.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Study for Terpsichore; Study for Erato von Frederic Leighton wurde im Juli letzten Jahres in der Auktion European and British Art, Part II bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 25.200,00 (€ 30.093,28) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frederic Leighton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Golden Hours im Juni 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.274.500,00 (€ 3.930.468,55).
