Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Sea Echoes by Frederic Leighton was auctioned at Bonhams in March this year. It achieved a price of GBP 403,500.00 (€ 459,059.19), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 15%. Admittedly, works by Frederic Leighton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Golden Hours in June 2016 with an auction result of GBP 3,274,500.00 (€ 3,930,468.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Sea Echoes von Frederic Leighton kam im März diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 403.500,00 (€ 459.059,19) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 15%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederic Leighton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Golden Hours im Juni 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.274.500,00 (€ 3.930.468,55).
