Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
The work The outward bound by Frederick Cayley Robinson was worth GBP 25,250.00 (€ 29,936.72) to a buyer in March last year. This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century and British Impressionist Art at Bonhams in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Frederick Cayley Robinson; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot British study For Twilight sold at auction in May 2013 with the realized price of USD 68,750.00 (€ 52,933.48).
