Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August 2009 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Australian Acacias In The You Yangs, Iii by Fred Williams. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 120,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 132,000.00 (€ 77,605.41). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fred Williams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Hillside I, 1965 in August 2007 with an auction result of AUD 1,920,000.00 (€ 1,148,115.24).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August 2009 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian Acacias In The You Yangs, Iii von Fred Williams zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 120.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 132.000,00 (€ 77.605,41) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fred Williams erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian Hillside I, 1965 im August 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 1.920.000,00 (€ 1.148.115,24).
