Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Fred Uhlman achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in March this year. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Welsh Slate Mines In Snow sold for GBP 7,012.50 (€ 7,978.07) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Fred Uhlman; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portmerion Bay sold at auction in November 2006 with the realized price of GBP 7,800.00 (€ 11,583.24).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Fred Uhlman erzielte im März diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Welsh Slate Mines In Snow für GBP 7.012,50 (€ 7.978,07) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Fred Uhlman; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Portmerion Bay im November 2006 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 7.800,00 (€ 11.583,24).
