Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (J. 1) by Fred Sandback was sold in the Editions & Works on Paper auction at Phillips in New York in February this year. The price achieved of USD 2,016.00 (€ 1,901.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fred Sandback achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Broadway Boogie Woogie (Sculptural Study, Twenty-two part Vertical Construction) in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 545,000.00 (€ 495,724.94).
