Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Through the Starlit Hours by Frank Tenney Johnson was sold in the American Art auction at Christies in New York in May 2016. The price achieved of USD 185,000.00 (€ 166,142.79) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frank Tenney Johnson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Wyoming Cattlemen, which sold at auction in October 2020 for USD 550,000.00 (€ 472,224.61).
